Persona 4 Golden is Atlus's expanded version of Persona 4, released on PS Vita in 2012, on PC in 2020 and on PS4, Xbox and Switch in 2023, adding Marie, new Social Links, events and a new ending. It scores 93 on Metacritic (Vita) and is the game Persona 4 Revival remakes.
Persona 4 Golden is the expanded edition of Atlus's Persona 4, first released on PS Vita (Japan in June 2012, North America on Nov 20, 2012, Europe on Feb 22, 2013), then on PC through Steam on Jun 13, 2020, and on PS4, Xbox, Switch and Game Pass on Jan 19, 2023. It keeps the 2008 story and adds a new character (Marie), two Social Links, night outings, a winter epilogue and a new ending. The Vita version holds a Metacritic score of 93, and the Steam version had sold more than 1 million copies by Jun 2021. Persona 4 Revival, out Feb 18, 2027, is SEGA's "full remake of Persona 4 Golden".

What is the difference between Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden?
Golden is the same story with a lot added around it. When Atlus dated the Vita release, its PlayStation Blog post listed sneaking out at night while Dojima is at work (with new conversations, events and music), night jobs, new Very Easy and Very Hard difficulties, skipping cutscenes, load times of "about 3 seconds or less", and a bigger fishing game with fish that bite only at night. One change catches guide readers: Golden's classroom questions and exams are "completely different" from the PS2 game's, RPG Site says, so the Persona 4 Golden Exam Answers do not work on PS2. Every walkthrough page on this viki is for Golden.
Persona 4 Golden on PC (2020)
Golden was announced at the PC Gaming Show and released on Steam the same day, Jun 13, 2020, the first time a Persona game came to PC. It cost $19.99 or $24.99 for a Digital Deluxe Edition with a digital artbook and soundtrack. Atlus called it an HD version with an unlocked frame rate, several resolutions, full keyboard and mouse support, and Japanese and English voices. It sold quickly: 500,000 by July 2020, 900,000 by Mar 31, 2021, and Atlus West then said it had passed 1 million. Steam lists it today with Denuvo Anti-tamper and nine text languages, up from four at launch.
Persona 4 Golden on PS4, Xbox and Switch (2023)
Atlus announced on Oct 8, 2022 that Golden would reach PS4, Switch and Xbox Game Pass on Jan 19, 2023, alongside Persona 3 Portable. It launched that day on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows (on Game Pass from day one), PS4 (playable on PS5) and Switch, each at €19.99, with remastered graphics, difficulty options, more languages and a new Suspend Save. The Vita version's 93 sits above the PS2 original's 90, and its user score is 9.1 from 2,914 ratings. On Steam, 97% of 46,160 English reviews are positive ("Overwhelmingly Positive"), and 96% of the 433 written in the 30 days before Nov 3, 2026.
Sales
Atlus said it had shipped 700,000 copies on Vita worldwide by Dec 2013, a shipment figure rather than sales to players. The Steam version passed 1 million by Jun 30, 2021. No combined figure across every platform since the 2023 release was found for this page.
How Persona 4 Revival remakes Golden
Revival is not a remaster: SEGA calls it a full remake of Golden with visuals, UI, battles and events "all reimagined for the modern era". Kazuhisa Wada said Atlus remade Golden rather than the 2008 game because Marie's story was so inherent to the main story that it could not be sold later as an add-on, as Persona 3 Reload's Episode Aigis was. In Revival Marie is present from the beginning. RPG Site's August 2026 preview build included Golden's added content and "doesn't seem to diverge much" from Golden so far. Atlus has not itemized which other Golden additions are in, the winter epilogue and Adachi's Social Link among them, as of Nov 3, 2026. The changes Atlus has stated are on What's New in Persona 4 Revival. The clip is Atlus's Anime Expo 2026 panel, where its interpreter says in English that Revival fully remakes Persona 4 Golden.

Adachi Social LinkTohru Adachi's Jester Social Link is a Persona 4 Golden addition: start it at Junes from May 13, see him only on set dates, and reach rank 6 by the end of Nov 1 or it locks. Atlus has not said whether it is in Persona 4 Revival.
