Marie
Marie is the girl with no memories added in Persona 4 Golden, a Velvet Room resident with the Aeon Social Link whose story leads to the Hollow Forest and the Golden Ending. Persona 4 Revival keeps her and works her in from the start, voiced by Ari Thrash in English and Kana Hanazawa in Japanese.
Marie is the character Persona 4 Golden added: a girl who has lost her memories, was given the name "Marie", and finds the town strangely familiar (TheGamer). The protagonist meets her early, she stays in the Velvet Room with Igor and Margaret, where she handles Golden's Skill Cards (Siliconera), and her Aeon Social Link leads to Golden's bonus dungeon, the Hollow Forest, and the Golden Ending. She is in Persona 4 Revival, voiced by Ari Thrash in English and Kana Hanazawa in Japanese, and director Kazuhisa Wada has said her story is the reason Revival remakes Golden rather than the PS2 game: in Revival "she needs to be here from the beginning", with a more natural entrance than Golden gave her. The clip is GameSpot's Aug 2026 footage of a pre-release build of Persona 4 Revival, with Marie in the Velvet Room.

Who is Marie?
SEGA's Revival page calls her a mysterious girl met in Inaba who seems unfriendly but is outgoing and curious, with "a hobby she'd prefer to keep secret". Atlus's Japanese page says the same of her: aloof and curt at first, curious and proactive underneath. Her past is the mystery her Social Link and the Hollow Forest answer, so this page leaves it there. In Golden's epilogue, set the summer after the story, she appears as a weathergirl (TheGamer).
The Aeon Social Link
In Persona 4 Golden the link starts after 4/18: in the Velvet Room choose "Check on Dwellers", then "Listen to Marie's Request". She goes out on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, never in rain, and every day after 12/8 (TheGamer). Rank 5 needs Rise on the team, so it waits until 7/24; "Because I love you" at rank 8 to 9 starts a romance; rank 10 gives the Bamboo Comb, which lets the protagonist fuse Kaguya (RPG Site). The deadline to max it is stated differently by the guides: TheGamer's dungeon guide says by 12/23, its endings guide says before 12/24, and RPG Site's endings guide says before Magatsu Inaba is completed. Choices are on Marie Social Link. The clip is GameSpot's Aug 2026 footage of a pre-release build of Persona 4 Revival, where her Aeon link forms on Apr 18.
The Hollow Forest and the Golden Ending
With the link maxed, Marie goes missing on the ski trip on 2/12, and after school on 2/13 the party is taken to the Hollow Forest, with that one day to finish it. Armor and items are removed on entry, battles earn no yen, and every acting member's SP is halved after each battle; the 10 floors are named after emotions, and Marie is fought on the last, Memories of Meeting, in two battles back to back with no recovery between them (TheGamer). RPG Site calls it the hardest dungeon in the game. Rescuing her earns the trophy "Welcome Back" (TheGamer) and, on the true path, adds the Golden scene to the True Ending (RPG Site). The walkthrough is on Hollow Forest and the routes on Persona 4 Endings. The clip is AMHarbinger's Persona 4 Golden playthrough, as Margaret offers to find Marie.
Marie in Persona 4 Revival
Marie is why Revival remakes Golden. Wada told GamesRadar+ that her story was "so inherent to the main story" that it could not be held back and released later, as Persona 3 Reload's Episode Aigis was. He said Golden made her introduction "very obvious", while Revival gives her a "more natural, flowing entrance" (GamesRadar+, Sep 5, 2026). RPG Site's preview build already included Golden's added content, Marie among it (RPG Site, Aug 26, 2026), and Siliconera reported on Oct 5, 2026 that her Social Link outings remain, after a short teaser called "Just Marie Things" showed her English scenes (Siliconera).
Ari Thrash was among Atlus's first five English voices on Jun 17, 2026, and Kana Hanazawa voices her in Japanese. Atlus has not said whether the Hollow Forest is unchanged in Revival as of Nov 3, 2026.
