Persona 4 Characters

Persona 4's main characters are the protagonist and the seven Investigation Team members, Yosuke, Chie, Yukiko, Kanji, Rise, Teddie and Naoto, with the Dojimas, Adachi, the Velvet Room's Igor, Margaret and Marie, and the town's Social Link characters. Persona 4 Revival recasts all of them in English except Adachi.

0:01 Persona 4's cast is the protagonist, a second-year high school student sent to live with his uncle in the rural town of Inaba, and the seven friends who form the Investigation Team with him: Yosuke Hanamura, Chie Satonaka, Yukiko Amagi, Kanji Tatsumi, Rise Kujikawa, Teddie and Naoto Shirogane. Around them are his uncle Ryotaro Dojima and cousin Nanako, the young detective Tohru Adachi, the Velvet Room's Igor and Margaret, and, from Persona 4 Golden on, Marie. Persona 4 Revival, out Feb 18, 2027, keeps every one of them: Atlus's character pages list the same eight team members and the same people of Inaba, and its director Kazuhisa Wada told GamesRadar+ that "the characters are all the same people", with some dialogue made more modern. What changes is the English cast, new except for Johnny Yong Bosch as Adachi, and one face that is new to the game: Aika Nakamura, who leads Revival's Location Episodes. The Investigation Team

19:52 Each member is pulled into the TV world, faces a Shadow made of the side of themselves they rejected, and awakens a Persona of their own; Atlus's Revival story page puts it the same way. In Persona 4 Golden the team's link is the Fool arcana (Investigation Team Social Link), and maxing a member's own link evolves their Persona, with a third, ultimate form added in Golden (Game Rant). The clip is GameSpot's Aug 2026 footage of a pre-release build of Persona 4 Revival, in which Yosuke accepts his Shadow.

5:17 Aika first appeared in Persona 4: The Animation and is only mentioned in Golden. Revival's English broadcast in September 2026 called her a new Social Link, and on Sep 25, 2026 Atlus West corrected that: she is "a Location Episode Character and not a Social Link". Atlus's Japanese site says she tours Inaba with the protagonist, collecting photos of days gone by that unlock memory scenes with friends (Atlus). SEGA's page adds that she is a childhood friend of Hanako Ohtani. The clip is that Sep 19, 2026 broadcast introducing Aika and the Location Episodes.

Others matter to the story without a Social Link: Mitsuo Kubo, the captive of Void Quest, and Taro Namatame, whom the team confronts at the hospital on Dec 3 in Golden (TheGamer). The story itself is on Persona 4 Story.

What changes for the characters in Revival?

16:05 Atlus says the characters and their stories stay; the words and voices change. Wada told GamesRadar+ that no part of anyone's personality was changed, while dialogue was adjusted to sound more modern, and told PCGamesN that some lines were added where the original script was unclear and others cut (PCGamesN, Aug 26, 2026). He told Anime Corner that Yosuke's treatment of outsiders was softened (Anime Corner, Jul 8, 2026), and Revival adds no romance with Yosuke (PC Gamer, Sep 1, 2026). Character models now have full human proportions, which Soejima said drew on Persona 4: Dancing All Night. Every main character got a trailer between Jul 3 and Sep 17, 2026 (RPG Site). The voices are covered on Persona 4 Revival Voice Cast. The clip is Soejima at Atlus's Anime Expo 2026 panel, in Japanese, saying the art and models were all remade, at full proportions.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the party members in Persona 4? The protagonist, Yosuke Hanamura, Chie Satonaka, Yukiko Amagi, Kanji Tatsumi, Teddie and Naoto Shirogane fight; Rise Kujikawa is the navigator and does not fight. Persona 4 Revival keeps the same eight.

Who is the main character of Persona 4? A second-year high school student who moves to Inaba to live with his uncle; the player names him, and the anime and later media call him Yu Narukami. His first Persona is Izanagi.

Are there new characters in Persona 4 Revival? Aika Nakamura, the Aiya diner's delivery girl from Persona 4: The Animation, is new to the games as a Location Episode character. Atlus said on Sep 25, 2026 that she is not a Social Link.

Is the Persona 4 cast the same in Revival? The Japanese cast returns. The English cast is new except Johnny Yong Bosch, who plays Adachi again; Atlus said some former actors were unavailable or had left the industry.

Can you romance Yosuke in Persona 4 Revival? No. Kazuhisa Wada said a Yosuke romance would mean adding one for every male character, so Persona 4 Revival keeps Golden's romance options.
