Yukiko's Castle

Yukiko's Castle is the first real dungeon of Persona 4 Golden, where the team rescues Yukiko Amagi by beating Shadow Chie on floor 2, Avenger Knight on floor 5 and Shadow Yukiko, who is weak to ice, on floor 8 at about level 12 to 15. It is the dungeon Persona 4 Revival's previews and demos let players try.

Yukiko's Castle is the first real dungeon of Persona 4 Golden: Yukiko Amagi's Shadow rules it, Shadow Chie waits on floor 2, the Avenger Knight midboss on floor 5, and Shadow Yukiko past the door on floor 8, and TheGamer suggests being around level 12 to 15 before that last fight. Shadow Yukiko is weak to ice, and Chie, who joins here, is the one who carries it. In Persona 4 Revival the castle is the dungeon Atlus has let people play: press at Gamescom 2026 played it up to Shadow Chie, and the Tokyo Game Show 2026 dungeon demo was set in it (RPG Site). Atlus has not said whether its floors, bosses or deadline change. The clip is GameSpot's Aug 2026 footage of a pre-release build of Persona 4 Revival.

Before the castle: Shadow Yosuke

The first boss of Persona 4 Golden comes before the castle, on the first trip into the TV World. The protagonist fights Shadow Yosuke alone with Izanagi. Shadow Yosuke is weak to electric, so Zio knocks him down for a free turn, and his wind attacks hit Izanagi's weakness. When he uses Power Charge, guard: Wind of Oblivion follows and knocks the protagonist down. TheGamer alternates Zio with Cleave, which costs HP instead of SP, and after the fight the reply "You're still yourself" lets Yosuke awaken to his Persona (TheGamer). The clip is GameSpot's Aug 2026 footage of a pre-release build of Persona 4 Revival.

Walkthrough

Floors are randomized, so there is no fixed map, but the story stops are always on the same floors (TheGamer). Teddie gives the party a Goho-M, which returns it to the last floor reached.

  1. Floor 2: Shadow Chie. Yu and Yosuke fight her. She resists physical attacks and is weak to wind: Yosuke's Garu knocks her down for an All-Out Attack. Her Mazio hits the whole party and knocks Yosuke down, and when she looks at Yosuke scornfully, Mazio comes next turn, so he should guard. Green Wall cuts wind damage to her for three turns (TheGamer). Chie joins the party afterward.
  2. Floors 3 to 7: Happiness Hand. This rare Shadow flees when it sees the party and pays large EXP when caught (TheGamer).
  3. Floor 5: Avenger Knight. The floor is a ring-shaped hallway; walk it and try the doors until one opens. The knight is weak to fire and uses Power Charge and Red Wall; Ukobach, which knows Agi from the start, is TheGamer's pick, with physical attacks while Red Wall is up. It drops the Glass Key for the locked north door (TheGamer). TheGamer's two guides disagree on which way round the hallway to go, so try both.
  4. Floor 8: Shadow Yukiko. Heal and save before the door.
A giant yellow masked woman holding whips sits on a purple and red frame; a dialogue box names her Shadow Chie.

TheGamer lists Shadows from Lying Hablerie at level 5 to Heat Balance and Avenger Knight at level 15.

Trance Twins Fire

How do you beat Shadow Yukiko?

In Persona 4 Golden Shadow Yukiko is level 15 and weak to ice. She opens with Burn to Ashes, fire on the whole party, so everyone guards on the first turn (Chie is weak to fire). After her first knockdown she casts White Wall. Terror Voice inflicts Fear, and Shivering Rondo hits Feared members hard, so carry a Sedative. Near half health she calls Charming Prince, who heals her and casts Makajam; he is weak to electric and strong against wind, so kill him first with Izanagi's electric skill.

Chie learns Mabufu at level 14 and is the main attacker. Give the protagonist a Persona that resists fire (TheGamer). Fan sources say the ice weakness was new in Golden; no editorial source compares the two versions, so treat that as unconfirmed.

Optional boss: Contrarian King

On a later visit the Contrarian King, level 17, waits in Shadow Yukiko's place. It drains fire, nulls wind, light and dark, and resists almighty, so leave Yukiko on healing and decline All-Out Attacks. It uses Kill Rush, Hysterical Slap, Rampage, Marakunda and Red Wall; TheGamer puts Obariyon (resists physical) on the protagonist and Sukukaja on Yosuke. More on Optional Bosses.

Yukiko's Castle in Persona 4 Revival

Revival's castle is the only dungeon of the remake seen in play. RPG Site's James Galizio played it up to Shadow Chie on an Xbox Series X devkit (RPG Site, Aug 26, 2026), and PC Gamer's Mollie Taylor also reached Shadow Chie (PC Gamer, Sep 2, 2026). Director Kazuhisa Wada named the castle, with Heaven, as a dungeon that gains most from modern hardware (Anime Corner, Jul 8, 2026). The clip is GameSpot's Aug 2026 footage of a pre-release build of Persona 4 Revival.

Atlus Japan is running its dungeon demo in the castle again at six Yodobashi Camera and Bic Camera stores from Nov 14 to Dec 13, 2026 (Persona Channel). No home demo outside Japan is announced as of Nov 3, 2026. More on Persona 4 Revival Previews and Yukiko Amagi.
