Persona 4 Dungeons

Persona 4 Golden has nine dungeons inside the TV, in order Yukiko's Castle, Steamy Bathhouse, Marukyu Striptease, Void Quest, Secret Laboratory, Heaven, Magatsu Inaba, the Golden-only Hollow Forest and Yomotsu Hirasaka. Persona 4 Revival keeps the same procedurally generated corridors in its pre-release build.

Persona 4 Golden has nine dungeons inside the TV World, played in this order: Yukiko's Castle, Steamy Bathhouse, Marukyu Striptease, Void Quest, Secret Laboratory, Heaven, Magatsu Inaba (with its lower half, Magatsu Mandala), the Golden-only Hollow Forest and the true final dungeon, Yomotsu Hirasaka, per TheGamer's walkthrough and its party guide. Each of the first six is built from the inner self of someone thrown into the TV, and each has a fog deadline: clear it in time or the captive dies and the game ends. Persona 4 Revival, out Feb 18, 2027, keeps the original's procedurally generated corridor format in the build press played at Gamescom 2026 (PC Gamer, Sep 2, 2026), and Atlus has not published a Revival dungeon list, so the dates and levels below are Persona 4 Golden's. The clip is Nintendo Life's Persona 4 Golden review.

Source: TheGamer's dungeon walkthroughs by Gabrielle Castania, 2023 (Yukiko's Castle, Steamy Bathhouse, Marukyu Striptease, Void Quest, Secret Laboratory, Heaven, Magatsu Inaba, Hollow Forest, Yomotsu Hirasaka); the Magatsu Inaba deadline from Inverse, Feb 20, 2024.

The last three are not on every route. Magatsu Inaba opens only if the player names the right person on Dec 5, the Hollow Forest only if Marie's Social Link is maxed, and Yomotsu Hirasaka only on the true ending route; Persona 4 Endings has the conditions.

How do Persona 4 dungeons work?

A dungeon opens after its captive goes missing and appears on the Midnight Channel. From then on the player chooses which days to spend inside, and every day spent there is a day not spent on Persona 4 Social Links or Social Stats, which is why guides plan around the deadlines on Persona 4 Calendar. A dungeon does not have to be finished in one visit: leaving keeps progress, and Teddie's Goho-M returns the party to the last floor reached (TheGamer).

Floors are randomized, so their layouts cannot be learned in advance, but the story floors, midboss rooms and the boss floor are fixed (TheGamer). Shadows roam each floor, and battles turn on weaknesses, explained on Persona 4 Combat. Rare Shadows such as Happiness Hand run when they spot the party and give large EXP when caught.

Any cleared dungeon can be entered again by talking to its owner inside the TV World, and a second visit can hold a new optional boss in place of the first one (TheGamer). Those fights, and the Reaper that comes after the party opens too many chests, are on Optional Bosses; every story fight is on Persona 4 Bosses.

A round command menu lists Analysis, Tactics, Guard, Attack, Skill, Persona, Item and Escape beside party portraits; the protagonist with a sword faces an enemy among statues.

Dungeons in Persona 4 Revival

Atlus describes Revival as a full remake of Persona 4 Golden, and the press who played it found the dungeons still built the same way. PC Gamer's Mollie Taylor saw the procedurally generated corridors kept and the Shadows given tweaks rather than full redesigns (PC Gamer, Sep 2, 2026). GamesRadar+'s Catherine Lewis found three changes in her pre-release build: sword hitboxes that feel far more accurate, smashable objects that restore a little SP as in Persona 3 Reload, and a glowing path that points the way forward, which she could not tell whether players can turn off (GamesRadar+, Sep 3, 2026).

Atlus's stated goal for the dungeons is to cut player stress as far as possible (PCGamesN, Aug 26, 2026). Director Kazuhisa Wada named Heaven and Yukiko's Castle as the two dungeons that gain most from modern hardware (Anime Corner, Jul 8, 2026). In the field, Revival adds Guard Action, which stuns a Shadow that attacks while the protagonist guards, and Send Flying, which knocks an ailing Shadow into another (Atlus); the battle side is on Persona 4 Revival Battle System.

Yukiko's Castle is the only Revival dungeon anyone outside Atlus has played: RPG Site and PC Gamer at Gamescom 2026, and visitors to the Tokyo Game Show 2026 dungeon demo (RPG Site, Aug 24, 2026). Atlus has not said whether the Hollow Forest, the optional bosses or the deadlines change, as of Nov 3, 2026. Hands-on reports are collected on Persona 4 Revival Previews. The clip is GameSpot's Aug 2026 footage of a pre-release build of Persona 4 Revival.

Frequently asked questions

How many dungeons are in Persona 4 Golden? Nine: Yukiko's Castle, Steamy Bathhouse, Marukyu Striptease, Void Quest, Secret Laboratory, Heaven, Magatsu Inaba, the Hollow Forest (added in Golden) and Yomotsu Hirasaka. The PS2 Persona 4 has the same dungeons without the Hollow Forest.

What are the dungeon deadlines in Persona 4 Golden? Per TheGamer, the Steamy Bathhouse must be cleared by Jun 4, Void Quest by Aug 12, the Secret Laboratory by Oct 5 and Heaven by Nov 20. No editorial guide read here confirms the Yukiko's Castle and Marukyu Striptease deadlines; community lists say Apr 29 and Jul 9.

What happens if you miss a dungeon deadline in Persona 4? The fog arrives, the captive dies, and the game ends. Clearing each dungeon well before its date is the safe habit, since story days take some of the time.

Are Persona 4 Golden dungeons randomly generated? Yes. Ordinary floors change layout on every visit, while story floors, midboss rooms and the boss floor are fixed.

Are the dungeons the same in Persona 4 Revival? In the pre-release build shown in 2026, yes: Persona 4 Revival keeps the procedurally generated corridors, with a guiding path, SP-restoring breakable objects and tweaked Shadows. Atlus has not published a full dungeon list before the Feb 18, 2027 launch.

What is the hardest dungeon in Persona 4 Golden? RPG Site calls the Golden-only Hollow Forest the most challenging dungeon in the game: items and armor are taken away, battles pay no yen, and SP is halved after each fight.
