Void Quest

Void Quest is Mitsuo Kubo's retro game dungeon in Persona 4 Golden, open from Jul 29 with an Aug 12 deadline: 10 floors called chapters, the Killing Hand and Almighty Hand midbosses on chapter 7, and Shadow Mitsuo on the last, Endgame, at about level 45. Atlus has not said what Persona 4 Revival changes in it.

Void Quest is the fourth dungeon of Persona 4 Golden, an 8-bit role-playing game built from Mitsuo Kubo's mind: it opens on Jul 29, must be cleared by Aug 12, and has 10 floors called chapters, with the Killing Hand and Almighty Hand midbosses on chapter 7 and Shadow Mitsuo on the tenth, "Endgame", per TheGamer. TheGamer suggests level 38 to 40 to start and 45 by the boss. Shadow Mitsuo has no weakness and fights inside a pixel-art hero he keeps rebuilding. Persona 4 Revival keeps the dungeons' corridor format in its pre-release build, but Atlus has not shown Void Quest or said what changes in it as of Nov 3, 2026. Walkthrough

  1. Chapters 1 to 6. Randomized floors. TheGamer's party guide brings Kanji, Yukiko (now the main healer, with Diarama and Mediarama) and Yosuke, with the protagonist covering ice, light and dark.
  2. Chapter 7: Killing Hand and Almighty Hand. The fight starts in the northwest corner of the floor; heal before the door. Almighty Hand only appears when Killing Hand or Supreme Hand calls it (TheGamer).
  3. Chapters 8 and 9. Keep climbing; the dungeon also holds Steel Machine, which resists nearly everything, so magic does little to it.
  4. Chapter 10, Endgame: Shadow Mitsuo.
Shadow Level Affinities
Blue Sigil 42 Weak to physical; drains fire, ice, electric and wind
Avarice Bambino 42 Weak to fire
Steel Machine 45 Resists nearly everything
Protective Lexy 46 Resists the four elements

How do you beat Shadow Mitsuo?

Shadow Mitsuo (level 45) resists physical and almighty, nulls light and dark, and takes normal damage from fire, ice, electric and wind. He starts inside a blocky 8-bit hero, which attacks with Fight and Item (almighty; Item can exhaust a party member). Break the hero and Mitsuo himself fights, with all four elements, Megidola, Dekaja, Dekunda, Stagnant Air, Evil Touch, Evil Smile, Arm Chopper, Atom Smasher and Ghastly Wail, which kills party members who are afraid. The clip is BuffMaister's fight in Persona 4 Golden on PC at Very Hard.

Two habits decide the fight, per TheGamer:

  • Walls. When he raises a colored Wall, he uses that element for the next few turns. Switch to another element.
  • Rebuilding. He needs three moves, Whisper, Chant and Prayer, then Character Setup, to rebuild the hero, and once rebuilt the hero adds Spell, heavy almighty damage on everyone. Drain his HP while he rebuilds; knocking him down opens an All-Out Attack.

Bring magic users around level 45. Teddie's Energy Shower cures exhaustion and Yukiko's Me Patra or Amrita cures fear (TheGamer).

Optional boss: Escapist Soldier

On a second run of Void Quest, the Escapist Soldier, level 47, waits at the end. Ice and wind deal extra damage without knocking it down; it nulls light and dark and is strong to almighty. Ailments are the danger: it uses Mudoon (an instant-kill dark spell), Mind Slice (confusion), Crazy Chain (rage), Arm Chopper, Blade of Fury, Foul Breath and Stagnant Air. TheGamer brings a party at level 47 to 50 with Yukiko healing and curing, Teddie and Yosuke casting ice and wind, and Black Frost or Baphomet (level 50) on the protagonist. Beating it raises Courage. See Optional Bosses.

Void Quest in Persona 4 Revival

Atlus has not shown Void Quest as of Nov 3, 2026, and nothing published says whether its 8-bit look returns unchanged. Revival's dungeons keep the original's procedurally generated corridors in the build PC Gamer played (PC Gamer, Sep 2, 2026). See What's New in Persona 4 Revival.
