Steamy Bathhouse

The Steamy Bathhouse is Kanji Tatsumi's dungeon in Persona 4 Golden, open from May 19 with a Jun 4 deadline: 11 baths, the Daring Gigas midboss on Bath #7 and Shadow Kanji, who drains electric, on Bath #11, at about level 25 to 28. Atlus has not said what Persona 4 Revival changes in it.

The Steamy Bathhouse is the second dungeon of Persona 4 Golden, where the team rescues Kanji Tatsumi: it opens on May 19, must be cleared by Jun 4, and runs 11 floors called baths, with the Daring Gigas midboss on Bath #7 and Shadow Kanji on Bath #11, per TheGamer. TheGamer suggests level 25 to enter and 25 to 28 before the boss. Shadow Kanji drains electric and has two minions; the fight ends when he falls. Persona 4 Revival keeps the dungeons' corridor format in its pre-release build, but Atlus has not shown the bathhouse or said what changes in it as of Nov 3, 2026. Walkthrough

  1. Baths #1 to #6. Randomized floors. Yukiko joins the party for this dungeon, and TheGamer's party guide takes Teddie (ice and healing), Yosuke and Yukiko (fire and revival).
  2. Bath #7: Daring Gigas. It is level 24, nulls light and dark, and has Counter, a small chance to send physical attacks back. It repeats Power Charge, Rebellion, Tarukaja, then Single Shot, so guard before Single Shot and attack with any magic but light and dark. It drops the Bathhouse Key.
  3. Baths #8 to #10. Use the key and keep climbing; heal and save before the last floor.
  4. Bath #11: Shadow Kanji.
Shadow Level Weak to Notes
Autonomic Basalt 16 Wind
Iron Dice 20 Electric
Egotistical King 23 Fire Absorbs electric, repels light and dark
Crying Table 24 Ice

Source: TheGamer's Steamy Bathhouse walkthrough, Jan 31, 2023. Game Rant gives the bathhouse Shadows as level 17 to 26.

How do you beat Shadow Kanji?

In Persona 4 Golden Shadow Kanji is level 24, drains electric and nulls light and dark. He fights with two minions: Nice Guy, weak to ice and immune to fire, who heals and buffs, and Tough Guy, weak to fire and immune to ice, who attacks. Beating Kanji ends the battle, so the minions are only extra EXP. The clip is BuffMaister's fight in Persona 4 Golden on PC at Very Hard.

Watch for three moves. Power Charge comes before Swift Strike, so guard. Forbidden Murmur poisons the male party members and Roar of Wrath enrages the female ones. Game Rant warns that he uses Fanatical Spark at half health, so guard then too (Game Rant). The clip is BuffMaister's fight in Persona 4 Golden on PC at Very Hard.

Game Rant's order: kill Nice Guy first with Bufu, down Tough Guy with Agilao and hit him again to make him dizzy, then pound Shadow Kanji with physical attacks from Chie and the protagonist, since he does not resist them. Its Persona picks are Rakshasa (resists physical, learns Gale Slash at level 25), Andra (Blue Wall), King Frost (Bufula, Ice Break) and Xiezhai (Rakunda). Yukiko learns Agilao at level 21 and Recarm at level 26 (Game Rant).

Optional boss: Intolerant Officer

Come back after Kanji's rescue and the Intolerant Officer, level 27, waits at the end of the bathhouse. It uses Bufula, Garula, Single Shot and Poison Arrow and is strong to almighty, so turn down All-Out Attacks; TheGamer recommends level 28 to 30. TheGamer's guide is unclear on its weakness: its table shows only electric, while its text says ice and wind do extra damage. See Optional Bosses.

The Steamy Bathhouse in Persona 4 Revival

Atlus has not shown the bathhouse as of Nov 3, 2026. Revival's dungeons keep the original's procedurally generated corridors, and Shadows are tweaked rather than redesigned, in the build PC Gamer played (PC Gamer, Sep 2, 2026). Kanji's Revival character trailer came out on Sep 5, 2026 (RPG Site). More on Kanji Tatsumi and Kanji Social Link. The clip is that Kanji trailer, not the bathhouse.
