Ai Social Link

Ai Ebihara is the Moon Social Link in Persona 4 Golden: she appears once your Strength link reaches rank 4, and needs Courage 3 to skip class with her; two wrong answers reverse the link, and only the normal route ends in a lasting romance. Rank 10 lets you fuse Sandalphon.

Ai Ebihara is the Moon Social Link in Persona 4 Golden, and the one most likely to go wrong: she appears on the school's first floor once your Strength link reaches rank 4, asks you to skip class (which needs Courage 3), and from then on two answers can drop the link by a rank and one can break it for good. The safe path is the normal route: answer "……" at rank 5 to 6 and accept her at rank 9 to 10 for a real romance, or reject her and stay friends. Either way rank 10 gives the Compact, which lets you fuse Sandalphon. Persona 4 Revival keeps the Social Links, all newly voiced; Atlus has not said anything about Ai's.

How to unlock Ai

Join the basketball or soccer club and raise Kou's or Daisuke's Strength link to rank 4; Ai then waits on the first floor of the Classroom Building and asks you to skip class. Saying yes needs Courage at rank 3, Brave, per TheGamer's Courage guide, so raise it first (the hospital job and scooter rides help: see Social Stats). Accepting starts the Moon link.

Which days is Ai available?

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after school, on the Classroom Building's first floor, and not on rainy days, per TheGamer and Siliconera.

Rank 5 to 6: the route split

At rank 5 to 6 Ai asks you to be her boyfriend, and the answer sets the rest of the link. "I'll be your boyfriend." starts the Temporary Lovers route; "……" (staying silent) keeps you on the Normal route. RPG Site describes the Temporary Lovers route as the one with the negative result: it can never end in a lasting romance, it closes as a friendship at rank 10, and one answer at rank 8 to 9 ends the link forever. The Normal route is the one with the real romance.

Rewards

Rank 10 by either route gives the Compact, which lets you fuse Sandalphon in the Velvet Room (see Persona Fusion and Best Personas). The link gives no battle skills. Ai is one of the romances RPG Site lists for Persona 4 Golden; the hub Persona 4 Social Links covers the others.

Ai's link in Persona 4 Revival

Atlus's Japanese site says Persona 4 Revival voices every Social Link event anew, and director Kazuhisa Wada told PCGamesN on Aug 26, 2026 the links are largely unchanged, with "little bits and pieces" added to some. Atlus has not said whether Ai's reversals or routes change, and has not named her English voice, before the Feb 18, 2027 release. Every guide cited here is for Persona 4 Golden; none says how the PS2 Persona 4's version differs.
