Tohru Adachi
Tohru Adachi is the young detective who works under Ryotaro Dojima in Persona 4, given his own Jester Social Link in Persona 4 Golden. In Persona 4 Revival Johnny Yong Bosch returns as his English voice, the only original English actor to come back, with Mitsuaki Madono again in Japanese.
Tohru Adachi is the young detective in Persona 4 who, in SEGA's words, "transferred from the head office this spring" and works the murder case as Ryotaro Dojima's partner, his careless streak sometimes landing him in trouble. Persona 4 Golden gave him a Social Link of his own, the Jester, built on night scenes around town. In Persona 4 Revival, Johnny Yong Bosch, who voiced both Adachi and the protagonist in English before, returns as Adachi, the one member of the original English cast to come back, and Mitsuaki Madono returns in Japanese. Atlus confirmed Bosch on Sep 21, 2026.

Adachi in Persona 4 Revival
Atlus West named Revival's supporting English cast on X on Sep 21, 2026, and Adachi's voice was the surprise: Johnny Yong Bosch again, while Nazeeh Tarsha takes the protagonist Bosch also played in Persona 4 and Golden (Kotaku). Kazuhisa Wada had told GamesRadar+ that the team could not get everyone back and chose a whole new cast; after the reveal Bosch posted, "I know, I know. You guys are NEVER going to trust me again." (GamesRadar+, Sep 22, 2026). Atlus calls Revival "a full remake of Persona 4 Golden" but has not said whether Golden's Jester link is in it, so that is unconfirmed as of Nov 3, 2026.
The Jester Social Link
In Persona 4 Golden the link starts on 5/13: talk to Adachi at Junes after school. He is around only on set dates, and ranks 3, 4 and 5 happen at night outside the Moel gas station; rank 6 must be reached by the end of 11/1 or the link locks (TheGamer). RPG Site calls it one of Golden's new links built on its nighttime scenes (RPG Site). Final Weapon says completing it grants the Magatsu-Izanagi Persona (Final Weapon). Dates and answers are on Adachi Social Link.
Adachi's role in the story
Spoiler warning: the rest of this page names the culprit and the endings of Persona 4.
Adachi is the killer behind the murders of Mayumi Yamano and Saki Konishi. In Persona 4 Golden, on Dec 5, on the route that follows sparing Namatame, the protagonist names him as the culprit; telling the team opens Magatsu Inaba, where Adachi waits as the boss TheGamer calls the Mastermind (TheGamer). Working it out but keeping it secret leads instead to the Accomplice ending, a last meeting with him on Mar 20, which maxes the Jester link if it reached rank 6 before Heaven (TheGamer; RPG Site). On the normal and true paths, seeing him alone after Dec 3 turns his link into the Hunger arcana, which reaches rank 10 on Mar 20 on the True Ending path (TheGamer). In Golden's epilogue he is a "model prisoner" (TheGamer). The routes are on Persona 4 Endings. The clip is AMHarbinger's Persona 4 Golden playthrough, as Naoto first suspects a member of the police.
As a boss in Golden, Adachi is level 73, strong to physical attacks and immune to light and dark, so Naoto's light and dark skills fail; TheGamer suggests level 75 or higher. He uses Ziodyne, Maziodyne, Garudyne, Magarudyne, Vorpal Blade and Atom Smasher, with Evil Smile, Ghastly Wail and Foolish Whisper making fear and silence the main threats. Heal just before he falls, because Ameno-sagiri follows with no recovery (TheGamer). TheGamer's guide does not name his Persona in that fight. Strategy is on Persona 4 Bosses. The clip is BuffMaister's fight in Persona 4 Golden on PC at Very Hard.
