Marie Social Link

Marie is the Aeon Social Link added in Persona 4 Golden: start it in the Velvet Room on or after Apr 18, rank 5 waits until Jul 24, and maxing it in December (guides give deadlines from Dec 22 to Dec 31) opens the Hollow Forest and the Golden Ending. Persona 4 Revival keeps Marie.

Marie is the Aeon Social Link, one of the two links added in Persona 4 Golden, and the most important one to finish: start it in the Velvet Room on or after Apr 18, see her on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and max it in December, because rank 10 opens the Hollow Forest, Golden's bonus dungeon, and with it the Golden Ending. Guides disagree on the exact deadline, from Dec 22 to Dec 31, so the safe choice is to reach rank 10 by Dec 22. She can be romanced, and her rank 10 item, the Bamboo Comb, lets you fuse Kaguya. Persona 4 Revival keeps Marie: Atlus says she is part of the story from the start, and the Social Link outings with her remain.

On or after Apr 18, enter the Velvet Room, choose "Check on Dwellers," then "Listen to Marie's Request," per TheGamer. If another event plays first, leave and enter again. Marie has lost her memories and was given her name, and the town feels familiar to her, per TheGamer. She also works with Skill Cards in the Velvet Room, a Golden addition (see Persona Fusion).

When is Marie available?

In the daytime on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, never on rainy days, and not while an investigation is under way, per TheGamer. From Dec 8, when the team reaches Magatsu Inaba, she is available every day, which gives late players a final push toward rank 10.

Guides disagree, and the difference matters because missing it locks out the Hollow Forest and the Golden Ending.

How do you romance Marie?

In the rank 8 to 9 scene she asks why you spend time with her. "Because I love you" opens the romance; she says she won't believe just words, and hugging her confirms it, while not hugging her returns you to friendship. "Because you're my friend" keeps it platonic from the start. Both paths reach rank 10 with the same rewards, per RPG Site.

Rewards: Kaguya, the Hollow Forest and the Golden Ending

Rank 10 gives the Bamboo Comb, which lets you fuse Kaguya, and the full bonus when fusing Aeon Personas. Marie gives no battle perks. The bigger reward is the Hollow Forest: on the true ending path, TheGamer says Marie goes missing on the ski trip on Feb 12 and the party has a single day, Feb 13, to clear the forest, a dungeon RPG Site calls the hardest in the game. Clearing it adds the Golden scene to the true ending, the Golden Ending. The clip is AMHarbinger's Persona 4 Golden playthrough: Margaret says Marie has left and offers to find her, then the closed realm Marie made in the TV world.

Marie is in Persona 4 Revival, out Feb 18, 2027. Director Kazuhisa Wada told GamesRadar+ on Sep 5, 2026 that her Golden introduction was "very obvious" and that in Revival "she needs to be here from the beginning." He told GamesRadar+ the next day that her story was too tied to the main plot to add later, which is why Revival remakes Golden rather than the PS2 game. Siliconera reported on Oct 5, 2026 that the Social Link outings with her remain, and RPG Site's Aug 26, 2026 preview found her in its pre-release build. Atlus has not said whether her start date, the December deadline or the Hollow Forest change, so the dates above are Golden's. Marie is voiced by Ari Thrash in English, per SEGA, and by Kana Hanazawa in Japanese. The PS2 Persona 4 has no Marie and no Aeon link.
