Persona 4 Revival Voice Cast

Persona 4 Revival has a new English cast led by Nazeeh Tarsha as the protagonist, Paul Castro Jr. as Yosuke, Anne Yatco as Chie and Brianna Knickerbocker as Yukiko, with Johnny Yong Bosch the one returning actor, as Adachi. The Japanese cast largely returns.

Persona 4 Revival's English cast is new: Atlus announced Nazeeh Tarsha as the protagonist, Paul Castro Jr. as Yosuke, Anne Yatco as Chie, Brianna Knickerbocker as Yukiko and Ari Thrash as Marie on Jun 17, 2026, and the rest of the party and the supporting roles followed through October. The one actor carried over from Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden is Johnny Yong Bosch, who returns as Tohru Adachi, the role he played beside the protagonist in the earlier games. In Japanese, the announced actors so far have mostly reprised their roles. Atlus says every line is newly recorded, and that now covers the main story and every Social Link. The list below is as of Nov 3, 2026; minor characters had not been announced. The clip is Atlus's Jul 10, 2026 Yosuke trailer, which credits Paul Castro Jr. as his voice.

Why did Atlus recast Persona 4 Revival?

Because it could not bring everyone back. Atlus said some of the former cast were unavailable because of scheduling conflicts or had left the industry, and Kazuhisa Wada told GamesRadar+ that the team then decided: "let's start over. Let's get a whole new cast in and let's do our best." He told Anime Corner the English cast was picked through detailed auditions with SEGA of America involved at each step. Persona 3 Reload did the same, with a new English cast and a new vocalist.

Johnny Yong Bosch returns as Adachi

In Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden, Johnny Yong Bosch voiced both the protagonist and Adachi, Dojima's young partner on the police force. In Revival the protagonist goes to Nazeeh Tarsha and Bosch keeps only Adachi, which Atlus West confirmed on Sep 21, 2026. Fans had said the Adachi in the June broadcast sounded like him before the confirmation. Bosch's reply after the reveal: "I know, I know. You guys are NEVER going to trust me again." Why he was the exception, Atlus has not said. The clip is Atlus's Sep 19, 2026 broadcast introducing Adachi, with his Revival English lines.

What the original actors said in 2025

In late May 2025, before Revival was announced, three of the original English party said they had not been asked back: Yuri Lowenthal (Yosuke), Erin Fitzgerald (Chie) and Amanda Winn Lee (Yukiko), posting in the same order the game recruits their characters, which fueled theories that they were secretly returning. They were not. Lowenthal wrote, in a post since deleted: "I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don't want me to come back."

The earlier English voices that an editorial source names:

Character Persona 4 or Golden English voice Revival
Protagonist Johnny Yong Bosch Nazeeh Tarsha
Yosuke Hanamura Yuri Lowenthal Paul Castro Jr.
Chie Satonaka Erin Fitzgerald Anne Yatco
Yukiko Amagi Amanda Winn Lee Brianna Knickerbocker
Kanji Tatsumi Troy Baker Daman Mills
Tohru Adachi Johnny Yong Bosch Johnny Yong Bosch

Sources: GamesRadar+, May 30, 2025; GamesRadar+, Sep 22, 2026; Kotaku, Sep 21, 2026. GamesRadar+ also notes that Kanji was voiced by Matthew Mercer in some later spin-offs. The other earlier English voices are left out here because no allowed source for this viki names them.

Does the protagonist talk in Persona 4 Revival?

Mostly in battle. The protagonist speaks mainly in fights, not in most event conversations, and the player still names him, as in Golden. His Persona is still Izanagi. Nazeeh Tarsha voices him in English and Daisuke Namikawa, the Japanese voice since the original, in Japanese. See Protagonist. The clip is Atlus's Jul 3, 2026 Protagonist trailer: it credits Nazeeh Tarsha, and in its conversations the others speak.

How do the new voices sound?

Only previews have heard them. GamesRadar+ wrote after an hour with a pre-release build that Paul Castro Jr.'s Yosuke matches Lowenthal's outgoing vibe perfectly (September 2026). Castro also narrated the New Features trailer on Aug 11, 2026, and Anne Yatco hosted "ATLUS Presents: Persona 4 Revival Live" on Sep 5, 2026. Each party member's character trailer, from the protagonist's on Jul 3 to Naoto's on Sep 17, 2026, carries their new English voice; the list is on Persona 4 Revival Previews. The clip is Atlus's Anime Expo 2026 panel, where Castro introduces himself as Yosuke's English voice.

The Japanese cast

The Japanese voices revealed so far are the series' own: Namikawa, Morikubo, Horie, Koshimizu, Seki, Yamaguchi, Park and Madono all appear in Anime News Network's 2011 list for the Persona 4 games. Kana Hanazawa voices Marie. One role differs: that 2011 list gives Unshou Ishizuka as Dojima, and Revival's Dojima is Ryotaro Okiayu, per RPG Site. Rie Kugimiya voices Rise and sings "True Story - Revival" in character; see Persona 4 Revival Music.
